Blackpool’s Strongest Man is a personal project of mine. I began running the strength competition in 2021, wanting to grow the sport of strongman in the north west. Now in 2024, Blackpool’s Strongest Man bolsters a well recognised brand, designed and managed by myself, attracting attention from the world stage by having World’s Strongest Man and Official Strongman Games competitors compete and spectate at the event.
In 2023, the competition evolved in to a charity event supporting MIND mental health charity and donated all profits from the two day spectacle. The growth of the brand and competition has grown exponentially in the last few years, with around 400 spectators attending each day of the 2023 event and also attracted world record breaking athletes, with the under 90kg deadlift world record being broken with a 401.1kg lift from Dan Benson.
